Delit Teatre
This montage follows the life of poet, journalist, athlete, teacher and Catalan war photojournalist Anna Maria Martínez Sagi (1907-2000). Together with the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC), Avui no dormo als teus braços rescues a transgressive figure of the 20th century who fell into unjust oblivion due to the fact that she faced the canons and the system. The story begins in Barcelona at the end of the twenties and goes through the turbulent thirties, where the protagonist experiences, from the front line, the Aragon front, the Spanish Civil War. Subsequently, Anna Maria Martínez Sagi is forced into exile in France, where she lives during the Second World War and the post-war period; and, finally, she moves to the United States, where she teaches French literature for twenty years. Once the Franco dictatorship ended, she returned to Catalonia and ended her days in a home in Moià. In addition, the work shows the frustrated relationship with the great love of the protagonist, Elisabeth Mulder, and the conflicting relationship she had with the Catalan intelligentsia. In short, it is the story of a woman ahead of her time.
Delit Teatre
Delit Teatre has been in the theater scene for more than thirty years. For the members of the group, professionalism and seriousness on stage and in rehearsals are fundamental principles, and as an amateur company, they feel proud to be able to display them on stage. They have produced works such as Othello, Hamlet, Nora, La plaça del Diamant (‘In Diamond Square’) (adapted by the group), Samarretes esteses al terrat (‘T‑shirts hanged in the terrace’) (a collection of texts by the group), Terra Baixa (‘Martha of the Lowlands’) and Un tramvia anomenat desig (‘A Streetcar Named Desire’), among others.
