FITAG 2025 Regulations

PRESENTATION OF PROPOSALS

1. The XXV Girona International Amateur Theatre Festival (FITAG) will be held from August 26 to 31, 2025.

2. Groups interested in participating must fill out the registration form found on the website https://fitag.cat. For any problems with the submission, they can contact fitag@fitag.cat.

3. The deadline for submitting proposals ends on March 30, 2025 and is
non-extendable.

4. The works presented must last between 45 and 90 minutes, although if the proposal is of good quality and adapts to the characteristics of the festival, FITAG will also evaluate it. All links entered in the form must be accessible to the festival jury.

5. From April 30, 2025, the festival organising committee will announce the groups that have been selected, via e-mail to the e-mail address that the participants have indicated on the registration form they have submitted.

6. As this is an international festival, it must be taken into account that the audience may belong to different cultures and speak different languages. Therefore, those works will be valued that, due to their dramatic characteristics, can be understood by the audience regardless of the language of interpretation. Proposals can be from any theatre-linked discipline, including theatre-dance or gestural theatre.

7. Companies must submit a document with the technical requirements of the intended show.
8. The registration form must include the text of the work being presented and the author(s) of the text, for the purposes of copyright protection and adaptation of the text to the subtitling systems or other inclusive means accessible to blind or deaf people, which will be used during the festival.

9. The registration form must include the company’s promotional photographs in good resolution (minimum 1,920 × 1,080), a video where the work being presented can be clearly seen and a promotional video representing the work or the company, lasting under 2 minutes.

SELECTION OF PROPOSALS

10. Special format shows will be selected, with particular interest in this edition, to be programmed in unconventional areas in the city of Girona.

11. The FITAG artistic commission will select the proposals submitted with the aim of achieving the best possible level in the field of non-professional theatre. A maximum of 20 groups will be selected from all applications received.

12. The companies commit to performing the same show they have submitted, both in terms of the number of actors and the set design.

13. Companies must be willing to participate in all dissemination activities that the organisation deems necessary.

14. The Girona International Amateur Theatre Festival is a space for the exchange of ideas and reflections, and for learning about other theatrical realities. Therefore, groups are asked to take part in city life and in the parallel activities that take place off stage. FITAG is not a competitive festival, but a festival of coexistence.

15. The selected companies may receive a visit from one or more members of the FITAG artistic commission to check the quality of the work submitted.

16. Participation in the Girona International Amateur Theatre Festival implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

RETRIBUTION

17. The living and accommodation costs for the group members are paid by the organisation, up to a maximum of 9 people. The organisation will offer accommodation to companies with their headquarters or rehearsal space more than 60 kilometres far from Girona. FITAG reserves the right to extend the number of group members with a subsidised stay depending on the nature of the work being performed. Any changes must be negotiated beforehand.

18. Each group will receive a total of 350.00 euros (VAT not included) as a cash prize per performance within the official program. This amount will be paid once the performance has ended. If the performance has been chosen to participate in the FITAG Municipalities project, the group will receive a fee of 350.00 euros (VAT not included) for each performance outside Girona during the festival days. In order to receive the aforementioned fee, the training organisation must issue an invoice or do so through an associated third party.

19. Groups from the regions of Girona that have been selected for the official FITAG 2025 programming and that have performances subsidised by the Diputació de Girona’s Amateur Theatre Campaign will be able to decide whether they want the FITAG 2025 performance to be paid for through the campaign or decide to accept the grant of 350.00 euros from the festival. They cannot be beneficiaries of both payments at the same time.

20. Travel expenses and set transfers to the airport or Girona train station are paid by the company.

COMMUNICATION OF THE ACTIVITY

21. FITAG will promote the festival through its own media.

22. The company must carry out its own publicity campaign, making every effort to disseminate the show throughout its area of influence.

The parties must coordinate in the presentation of the campaigns, so that both are part of the same marketing plan, and they must use the promotional material prepared by the Diputació de Girona.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

23. Any circumstance that may arise and that is not provided for in these rules will be dealt with in the first instance by the organising committee and resolved by the person responsible for the Casa de Cultura service of the Diputació de Girona, as the contract party responsible for resolving the incidents.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND IMAGE RIGHTS

24. The selected company authorises the Diputació de Girona to make use of audiovisual productions related to FITAG in accordance with the following conditions:

24.1) Intellectual property rights
The selected company must exclusively assign to the Diputació de Girona the exploitation rights of the audiovisuals related to FITAG. The rights granted are for reproduction, distribution, public communication (including making it available on the Internet) and transformation, under the terms established in Articles 18 to 21 of the current revised text of the Intellectual Property Law (approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, of April 12). This transfer is made without territorial limitation and until it passes into the public domain.

However, the Diputació de Girona may authorise the use of these audiovisual productions by the selected company for the uses and purposes that it indicates. In any case, delivering the audiovisual to the media is expressly reserved to the Diputació de Girona.

24.2) Image rights
In the audiovisual capture of produced images, the selected company must guarantee respect for the right to one’s own image, as acknowledged by the legal system, for individuals who are recognisable. In exceptional cases in which it is necessary to obtain the consent of the affected person or their legal representative for the capture, reproduction or publication of the audiovisual, the selected company must obtain this consent.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

25. The processing of the personal data of the selected companies is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation), and by Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD). The selected company is obliged to comply with the aforementioned regulations and any rules implementing them. This obligation is considered an essential obligation, in accordance with letter f of section 1 of Article 211 of Law 9/2017, of November 8, on public sector contracts.

The personal data obtained from the selected companies will be processed by the Diputació de Girona as the data controller, within the scope of Article 4.7 of the General Data Protection Regulation. The purpose of the processing will be to manage the recruitment procedure. The contact details of the selected companies will be processed for the same purpose, for monitoring the contract and the actions arising therefrom. The legitimation of the processing will be based on the fulfilment of pre-contractual and contractual relationships. Data from the selected companies will be published in accordance with transparency and public sector contract regulations. To exercise the rights recognised in the General Data Protection Regulation (access to data, rectification, deletion, portability, limitation or opposition to processing), bidders can contact the Diputació de Girona at any time.
